PRESS RELEASE – “PVI PERSONNEL RELEASED”
UK: Sunday 12th June 2011
Protection vessels international (PVI) is pleased to announce that all
four of its personnel recently detained in Eritrea have been released
and are now on their way back to the UK.
PVI is clearly very pleased to have the men released; and despite
being detained for nearly six months without consular access, we
believe they are all in good health, stating they were well looked
after by the Eritrean authorities throughout.
PVI regrets the series of unfortunate events leading to the men’s
detainment, but it would like to express thanks to the Eritrean
President and his government for their release. PVI is also very
grateful for the support and advice by the FCO, with whom PVI has
worked very closely throughout.
Dom Mee, the founder and Operations Director from Protection Vessels
International said: “This is obviously great news and all of us at PVI
are very pleased to have the guys on their way back to the UK to be
reunited with their families. PVI has worked tirelessly with many
individuals to secure their release, too many to mention now, but they
know who they are and we’ll always be grateful.”
