Tournament Rules
- Games will be played until a team scores 15 points (straight up),
except the championship game which will be played to 21 points (win by
2). Designated score-keepers will
be keeping track of points. All
games are make-it-take-it.
- Excluding the championship round, games will have 20-minute time
limits. After time is up, the team
with the highest score will move on.
If 2 teams are tied after 20 minutes, they will play until somebody
wins (goes up by a point)
- The tournament will be single elimination.
- All games will be played in a half court setting.
- Each player must call their own fouls. We ask that all players
respect calls and not get carried away calling or causing fouls.
- All shots are worth 1 point.
- All games will have a designated score-keeper and a line judge (to
measure foot placement).
- Line judges and score keepers reserve the right to remove anyone who
is detrimental to the progress of the game.
- Violent or overly physical play will not be tolerated (leading/swinging
with your elbows, excessive hand checking, etc.) After the first sign of such play, the player will be given a
warning; the second time the player will be removed from that game. This rule will be enforced by the line
judge and score keeper. If the
player is removed from the game and refuses to leave the court, his team
will forfeit the game. If the
player is removed, he will be replaced by that teams substitute player. If the team has no sub, then the team must
forfeit the game.
- Line judge and score-keeper are not the referees. They are there to
assist with certain aspects of the game. Players call their own fouls, and
if teams are disputing something and can’t see eye-to-eye, they will be
asked to shoot for it.
** In order to tell teams
apart it’s recommended that players wear the same colors. To help with this players
are suggested to bring both a light and a dark shirt.
